The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
